Loving one’s self is essential. One must learn to love themselves first before they can learn to love another. That is a lesson I have learned over the years and I stick by it.
Before I could love someone else other than family, I had to learn to love myself and it wasn’t easy. I always believed my flaws were my downfall and let my insecurities rule me. I had a low self-esteem and wasn’t sure if I could fix that or not. I always used to compare myself to other girls and feel like I wasn’t good enough.
I eventually realized in order to overcome those obstacles, I had to learn to love all of me in time and patience. I learned that my flaws, personality and looks made me who I am and what made me unique in my own right.
I love every single thing about myself, from all my tiger stripes, all my birthmarks; like just my entire body in general and I’m not ashamed to say so. By learning to love myself first, it helped me to love others a bit more easily especially to those who deserve it.
Learn to love yourself first. You are your own biggest critic and motivator and it’s easy to lose yourself due to our own doubts and thoughts. It’s not a crime to put yourself first before others at times.
Just learn and know when and how to do so.
Motivate yourself to be the best that you can be and follow your dreams. Each and every single flaw that you believe that you have, makes you unique, special and loved. You are beautiful both inside and out and don’t let anyone tell you different. Believe in yourself and others shall learn to believe in you too.
Love yourself. Be yourself. Do you.
