Self Improvement and Awareness Month

By Kutlwano Pooe

The month of September is not only known as the start to Spring season but it is also known as Self- improvement and self- awareness month. According to National Day Calendar there is no historical background to this self-improvement month.
We celebrate this month by succeeding, not trying, to improve ourselves and the timing is perfect, as September is the start of spring. It is not only a new month but a new season. The newness helps us embrace the idea of a ‘newly improved self’.
The month of September represents the third quarter of the year, with just a quarter left before the end of the year. It is a great opportunity for self-introspection, with our stressful lifestyles and poor diets. We need to take a minute to recoup ourselves and begin the task of improving our lives.
Lifehack have 42 practical tips to improve yourself. Here are some of my favourite points-:
• Wake up early
Best-selling author Robin Sharma has acknowledged that waking up early like 4-6 am increases your productivity.

• Daily to-do list
Everyday ensure you write a do list of tasks that need to be completed by the end of the day. To ensure that you stay focused and achieve your daily tasks.
• Get rid of bad habits
Succeeding at quitting bad habits like smoking, oversleeping and lack of exercise can make it easier for you to achieve your goals.
• Start a 30 day challenge
Basically the 30 day challenge is about setting a goal and ensure that you give yourself 30 days to achieve it. Don’t try it, succeed it 

Make sure you visit the site to see the more tips and hopefully you implement them in your lives.
